Patent translation is typically priced per word and depends on the language pair, the technical complexity of the invention, volume, and whether you need a 'for filing' or 'for information' translation. Rather than a rate card, we give you a fixed written quote — usually within 24 hours — so there are no surprises. Translation-memory savings apply to repeated content across large specifications and multi-jurisdiction filings.

Generally 30 months from your earliest priority date, or 31 months for offices such as the EPO and Korea. Some offices allow additional time specifically for the translation (for example, China's window is extendable to 32 months with a surcharge, and Japan allows extra time to file the Japanese translation after national-stage entry). Deadlines and extension rules change, so we confirm the exact date for each designated office with you before you commit.

It depends on the country, under the London Agreement. Several EPO member states require no translation for a patent granted in English; some require only the claims; and others — such as Spain, Italy, Poland, and Turkey — require a full-specification translation. Separately, the claims must be translated into the two other EPO official languages (French and German) before grant. We map your validation states and translate only what each requires.

A 'for filing' translation is submitted to a patent office and must meet that office's legal, formatting, and terminology standards — it has to read as a proper patent in the target language, not a literal word-for-word rendering. A 'for information' translation is used for prior-art and freedom-to-operate review, due diligence, or litigation; it follows the source more closely and is usually faster and lower-cost. We deliver both — just tell us the purpose.

Yes. Priority-document translations often require a signed statement of accuracy (37 C.F.R. § 1.52(d)), and litigation exhibits frequently require certified translation. Every filing translation we deliver includes a signed certificate of accuracy, with notarization available on request.
